Background
Based on the research of 37 scientists from across the globe, the EAT Commission has put together the EAT-Lancet Report. This is a detailed document outlining techniques for sustainable food production in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); as well as what a ‘planetary healthy diet’ to feed a world of 10 billion people by 2050 should look like. The Lancet Lunch makes this key information information not only accessible and easily understandable; but also unforgettable and delicious for the general public.
The Lancet Lunch
At Sugar & SPACE, we see the urgent value in complex research projects such as the EAT Lancet report. However, these findings can only make a relevant impact if they reach large sections of the global urban population. Lancet Lunch follows the simple lunch and learn format; delicious food backs the key information being communicated. For our Lancet Lunch, we invited Mia Holmsen, our Head of Sustainability to Mumbai. Mia put forth the key findings of the EAT Lancet report to the audience before taking questions.
An interactive lunch follows the conversation; based on the recommended ‘planetary health diet’. The elements and menu are developed based on the report. Thus, we decode the report with actual food which guests are invited to consume. We even plug in food brands whose beliefs align with the experience.
